Complete Scoutmaster conference
11.
While working toward the Second Class rank, and after completing Tenderfoot requirement 10, participate in a Scoutmaster conference.
You’ve now sat through a Scoutmaster conference once already, for Tenderfoot, so the format is familiar: a one-on-one conversation, not a test. What’s different this time is the content you’re bringing to it.
What’s Different at Second Class
Where your Tenderfoot conference covered your first full rank of skills, this one reviews everything across Second Class’s twelve requirements — camping, cooking, navigation, wildlife, aquatics, first aid, fitness, citizenship, personal safety, and Scout spirit. Expect questions rooted in specifics: the fire you actually built, the hike you actually took, the hazards you actually saw.
Getting Ready
- Review each requirement and be ready to talk about what you actually did.
- Bring your activity log from requirement 1a, your fitness log from requirement 7a, and any notes from your earning plan in requirement 8c.
- Think through your Scout spirit examples from requirement 10 ahead of time.
